13th November 1889 North Sea . Name of person punished - J Lancaster 2nd hand. by David Williams skipper. A blow on the chest for using insulting language to me when I remonstrated with him for buying tobacco to send home. The incident above is also documented by the skipper, in the Memoranda by Skipper section of the agreement found on page 10.

Entry by Mercantile Marine Office. The fine under regulations 3 & 9 for maintaining discipline has not been enforced against D Williams for the assault upon the 2nd hand as after hearing the latters evidence it was found that Williams had left the town & he did not therefore appear to answer the charge of having struck the 2nd hand.
