2 October 1890 3am North Sea. Blowing heavily we collided with smack Sir Roger Tichborne of Hull. had to cut away the gear to save the vessel.

Hull 9 October 1890. When we collided with the Sir Roger Tichborne as reported. The crew of that vessel jumped aboard us believing their own ship was about to sink. We brought them to Hull,arriving here yesterday afternoon. The Sir Roger Tichborne got here the same tide, in tow of the smack Seagull of Hull, little the worse for the disaster.
