On Wednesday morning 17th February 1892 at 4am we sighted a vessel showing flare, we went to see what he wanted & he said he had broken down & asked us to stand by him, when we got our gear up. He had repaired part of his engine , so as to work one engine , but asked us to stand by him which I agreed to do for the sum of 50. We saw him safe both arriving at Hull 17/2/92. The vessel was the steam trawler Hafnia of Copenhagen.
