Description:

This is a film of the 21st Charter Day Luncheon of the Inner Wheel Club of Hull. A group of women are shown in conversation with drinks in hand, in their best coats and all wearing hats. They each sign a register and are joined by some men, including the Lord Mayor (Lawrence Science) and the Sheriff (Eric Wilson Mackman), who also sign the register. The guests also queue to shake the hands of attending dignitaries before the cake is cut and the assembled group sit down to eat. Afterwards speeches and presentations are made.

Those depicted include Queenie Eldon (in grey), Nellie Brocklehurst (in a blue striped hat), Rene Robins (in a striped fur cape), Fay Alden (in a red hat), Mary Glen (in a green and white hat), Betty Brown, Doris Smith, Billie Atkinson, Frazer Wilson, Albert Spencer's wife and Mary Steele (one of the speakers).

Originally a 16 mm silent Kodachrome film which has been digitised by the Yorkshire Film Archive (who hold the original film). An access DVD is available.
