This speech is a copy of a speech made by the author (unknown) on the occasion of him leaving the Round Table 5 years earlier (1954). He was asked to speak at the Hull Literary Club by Bill Hardaker. He joined the Round Table in 1934 at aged 20 and was their youngest member. In the speech the author talks about being a pacifist and a conscientious objector during the Second World War
