Co-operation and forward planning needed to avoid programme clashes in Hull; Soloists were Haphzibah Menuhin, Mincho Minchev, and Janet Baker; Sponsored Concerts featured Dmitri Alexeev, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra with Elizabeth Harwood, and London Mozart players with Tamas Vasary; Jean-Jacques Kantorow to play with the Orchestra in November; Terence Lovett, Musical Director and Conductor; Brian Paynes, Deputy Conductor; 'Cheese & Wine Party' ending the season; Death of Mr Reginald Morley, Leader of the Orchestra; Death of Mr Jack Sheard, Orchestra member; Death of Allen Hanby cello player and Executive Committee member; Mr Geoffrey Haworth, Honorary Librarian, member of the Executive Committee and Orchestra member, to leave Hull; Centenary of the Society in 1981.
