File contains black and white photographs of the presentation of a double bass to the society, purchased on the advice of Arthur Burgan, a double bass player with the Orchestra. Photographs show Arthur Burgan holding the new instrument whilst Andrew Penny, Musical Director of Hull Philharmonic Orchestra, shakes hands with Mr Polley of B.P. Chemicals. Also show Burgan, Penny, Tony Hickson and Polley in conversation. Note that the photographs are numbered and marked with prefix reference of '4145'.
