- Programmes relating to Sponsored Concerts of the Hull Philharmonic Society. The Sponsored Concert were begun by the Society in 1972 following the establishment of the Sponsors Fund with money received from Covenant Sponsorships pledged to the Society by industrial and private sponsors. The scheme was the idea of Mr Harold Needler. The Hull Philharmonic Orchestra did not play in these concerts but rather the Society used the dedicated fund to attract travelling Orchestras and artists of national and international renown to Hull. Each concert was officially sponsored by one named sponsor.
