- Reference No:
- C DSSF/1/12/4
- Dates:
- 12 Aug 1964
- Description:
- Includes a letter from Mr L. Hartley, enclosing a copy of the questionaire as well as the results of the questionaires returned. 125 were sent out to old 'boys' with only 26 completed. 87 were sent out to old 'girls' with only 30 completed. The survey was carried out in order for the Society to assess the value, or otherwise, of Newland upbringing since the Second World War. It included a number of questions that required answering particularly in relation to the present circumstances of old scholars and their opinion about the way in which the Society cares for children in a group rather than as individuals with ordinary families in ordinary streets. The results of the survey give figures as well as some of the comments made by the scholars regarding their experiences of the Society's care
