- Dates:
- 14 Dec 1933-5 Aug 1936
- Description:
- This correspondence is mostly between the Port of Hull Society & Sailors' Orphan Homes and Messrs T. Priestman Sons & Slack Solicitors and Hull Corporation. It relates to the Auckland Avenue land which was purchased by the Society from Haworth-Booth in 1920. The Port of Hull Sailors' Orphan Homes objected to the proposed Town Planning scheme put forward by the Corporation because they had purchased the land specifically so that an open space would be available near to the Homes, and, if it were ever decided to extend the Homes in the future, this could be done. The Society felt that the proposed Town Planning scheme would put this in jeopardy
