This correspondence is between the Port of Hull Society & Sailors' Orphan Homes' Hon Secretary, Dr. G.T. Hartley and Mr Priestman. The creation of a Sailor's Rest at the Old Institute on Waterhouse Lane, Hull. In it would be baths, well furnished recreation rooms, a temperance restaurant and some sleeping accomodation. It would be managed by an experienced Superintendant and his wife with maintenance undertaken by the port of Hull Society. The thoughts of Mr Priestman on the proposals are saught within this correspondence
