Description:
From approximately 300 tradesmen with addresses and 600 shop assistants. There is a covering letter from the secretary of the Hull United Shop Assistants, which lists officers of the organisation. The petition is made up of several sheets of signatures pinned together. It appears that those signed by the shop assistants were sent to individual firms which in the following cases are identified: Hammonds, John Morritts, Kirkpatricks Stores and Husbands of Chariot Street. It may be possible to identify a number of other firms from business addresses given by the signature
