- Dates:
- 9 Feb 1942
- Description:
Recalls the blitz in May 1941 and how they ran into the passage as they didn't use their shelter and how she heard the whistling and the sound of incendiary bombs falling. She remembers her brother telling her that a house on their terrace was on fire and her father and brother rushed to put the flames out 'then the All Clear blew and we were glad I can assure you'.
On another night she recalls hearing that a plane had landed on Hammonds and burst into flame. She says that the sky was lit-up by the fires and you could see the Rescue Squads all over the place. She finishes by saying 'Hull will never loose her spirit whether there are Raids or not'.
