Description:

Recalls hearing the sirens and going into an air raid shelter and hearing guns, bombs dropping and the sound of glass smashing with people around her fainting, screaming and crying. An Air Raid Warden told them there was a bomb in their street so they had to go to Victoria Hall, when she was outside she says 'the sky was red with flames'.

When she returned home she found all the windows were smashed, the floor was covered in soot but a little kitten had survived. She finishes by saying that 'every time the sirens go I am frightened'.
