List of members, thirty in total, including whether they were one of the original members or date they joined the Society. List of Rules of the Society including the rotation of the Chair and President with the Secretary and Treasurer roles being elected annually. List of lectures to be given by individuals in the next session.

Titles of the lectures given include 'Day Dreams', 'Pickings from Dickens', 'Things as they are in America', 'The Influence of Fashion upon Men and Things', 'English Poetry' and 'Education and Legislation'.

Meetings were held every two weeks with minutes of some meetings including a summary of the lecture and the discussions that followed.

Also includes a printed list of lectures to be delivered (Nov 1861-Apr 1862) and a copy of the Rules of the Society.
