The City Speaks by Michael Pinsky was an artwork consisting of a steel lecturn and microphone positioned on Humber Dock Street. Participants were invited to stand on the lecturn and speak into the microphone. Their words were transcribed by software and displayed on the Tidal Surge Barrier as scrolling text.
