Description:

File of letters sent to Edward Archibald Markham as Paul St Vincent in response to the submission of poems for possible publication.

File contains:

i) Envelope on which is written a note from John Silkin to 'Mr Vincent' under which are written readers' comments in relation to Markham's poems written under the pseudonym Paul St Vincent (9 Dec 1975);

ii) Note signed 'A. R.' at London Magazine asking what is the nature of the relationship between Lambchops and Philpot (n.d.);

iii) Note signed 'A. R.' at London Magazine commenting that they would 'like to take Lamb Chops Protests etc' and asking to 'have a few words about yourself' (n.d.);

iv) Letter from Howard Sergeant as editor of Outposts to Paul St Vincent stating that he is 'unable to use the enclosed' but that he is 'impressed' and 'would like to see more' (n.d.);

v) Letter from Nick Toczec to 'Paul' regarding an anthology due out about March 1976, suggesting that 'slow developer' and 'ode on the death of a rich man' might be included 'space permitting', asking whether he will be available for a reading in association with the launch of the anthology, and requesting further biographical information (n.d.).
