Manor of South Cave with its appurtenances in Swanland and elsewhere, held of Thomas de Moubray (under age and in custody of the King) by knight's service and worth 20 marks yearly: deed previous 1 Feb; Thomas, aged 17, being his son and heir. Taken at Pokelyngton, 16th cent. copy. Sab. after St Gregory Pope 2 Henry IV (19 Mar c.1400). Bound in portions of a Lease for 13 years at £10 rent: Rychard Danbie of Newe Parke, esquire, to William Gascoigne of Birkin, John Hopton of Armeley, James Danbie of Scruton, Michaell Wentworthe of Steton, John Ellis of Kiddall, esquires and Thomas Hopton of Heneley, gentleman: manor of South Cave called East Hall and part of the lordship of Wytheley: Recites will of Sir Thomas Danbie (3 Sep 1590) bequeathing the premises to Rychard Danbie charged with raising £500 for payment of debts of Sir Thomas Daynill. Not executed (18 Jul 1591).
