- Reference No:
- U DDBA/4/100
- Dates:
- 8 Jun 1670
- Description:
- Rectory or prebend of South Cave. Recites that the transactions as U DDBA/4/97 was by way of mortgage only; that Richard Nevill 'being obnoxious to the late usurping powers' left his deeds with Sir John Thorowgood for safe custody, on whose death they passed to William Thorowgood; that the deeds, being in the study at Pillingbeare, were 'much disorderly & tumbled' by William Thorowgood or his agents, whereby the defeasance of U DDBA/4/97 was missing; and that William Thorowgood claims that U DDBA/4/97 was an absolute conveyance.
