Description:
From Simeons History of the Church of Durham. Writes about Father Cuthbert & his disciples, and the King of the Danes, who on foreseeing the future distruction of his Church, took flight with his followers. They wandered through the whole of Northumberland guided only by their Pastor. They were determined to find a resting place for the Holy Body of Father Cuthbert and decided it should be in Ireland. However, after surviving terrible sea storms they then decide to lie the body to rest in a monastery in their own village.
