Description:
Charles observes that the society he has around him is of the most "inferior description". Their style of living is very different from what he had imagined. Describes his recent experiences. There were approximately 600 parrots one morning on some cabbage trees making a terrible noise, so Charles took out his gun and with one shot killed three parrots, the parrots were then used in a soup.
