- Most of the estate papers in the collection relate to Walkington in the nineteenth century and they include the wills of Robert Harwood (1751), Thomas Railey (1774), Joshua Sampson (1792), Samuel Shaw (1833), Thomas Brigham (1849), Ann Dunning (1852) and Ralph Dunning (1860). A number of Walkington families are represented in the estate papers, one example being the Remington family. There are also a number of papers relating to Samuel Shaw, the schoolmaster.
