Documents relating to the death and estate of Augusta Campbell Dury, nee Hunter. Mme Dury married, in 1878, Jules Dury, a French army officer, and lived in France for the rest of her life. The Durys had two children, Adele and Richard. Augusta Dury died on Christmas Day 1936.

Augusta Dury had a long-standing business relationship and friendship with J Willis Mills of Crust, Todd and Mills. Alverey Digby Hall Watt was made one of the trustees of her marriage settlement in 1925, and remained the sole trustee after the death of the other trustee, Harold Robinson Pease, in 1937, some six weeks after Mme Dury's death.

Augusta Dury died without a will and this, combined with her having lived in France, seems to have generated a large amount of paperwork. The papers in this series relate almost entirely to the period from her death on Christmas Day 1936 to late 1938, as the securities and other assets from her marriage settlement were dealt with. Ultimately, securities worth £6000 were held in trust to provide an income for Richard Dury, while the rest of the settlement's assets passed to Adele Dury.
