Thanks her for a letter she sent whilst she was on holiday. Discusses her holiday and the wet weather both there and in Bristol, a thunderstorm in Bristol, his being on light duty, her being out when he called, his leave before he returns to the front, his commission and possibility of leaving the Gloucester regiment, a friend of his from the frontline, a photograph, and the rumours of the damage caused by air raids in London.
