Discusses his being in France, how near he is to the firing line - close enough to hear the 'Big Guns', and how he [dismays] at the thought of being there himself. Drawing on the rear shows the flags of the allies with the motto "These Colours Never Run".

Postcard also included in envelope. This discusses his feet playing him up and his proximity to the firing line [Beaches].
