Description:
Has been in Buckingham since Monday about the militia. Is now back in (London?). Brother Pym read the two letters from Sir John in his absence, the second to the House, and will return to him 'the sense of the house in answer'. 'God hath shewed himself wonderfull in his deliverance of you from treachery'. Has only been back an hour and does not know what has passed in the House, but they seem confident, 'considering how great a noise the withdrawing of those Lords made in the country'. The Deputy Lieutenants and soldiers have done their parts very well, and besides the trained bands 'we have many volunteers' who have armed themselves and formed bands. Is greatly obliged by Sir John's letters and confidence in him.
