- Ledger book which has mainly been used as a letter book. Opening the book from one end, it is titled Ledger A, 1792; approximately 40 pages appear to have been removed, and there are ledger entries remaining for 1795 and 1799-1800. Opening the book from the other end, it has been used as a letter book, with copy letters from February 1798. Letters are to correspondents including James Stevenson, Benjamin Waterhouse, Robert Scarlett [uncle of James Scarlett jr.], Thomas James, "my dear father" [James Scarlett sr., her father in law], "my dear mother".
