Apologising for the depressing tone of his previous letter, relaying a conversation between a foreigner and a deaf peer, a conversation with Wenlock about yeomanry uniform, the training of the Yeomanry, his father's return and a visit to the Bowles family. Includes illustrations of the distinguished foreigner and the deaf peer talking and fallen down from exhaustion, a yeoman in top-boots and Mark Sykes in a very small top hat.
