Records in this file relate to the beginnings of the Jeremy Thorpe scandal, although Thorpe is only mentioned by name in press cuttings. Robin Maxwell-Hyslop asked two parliamentary questions relating to allegations that the Home Office had attempted to prevent Somerset Police giving information about the matter to the press.
