At the beginning of the volume are the following: Detailed descriptions and diagrams of topics such as sailing directions and Admiralty Chart Abbreviations; lists of the number of garments made; letter dated 23 Dec 1948, from the Private Secretary to Queen Mary, saying thank you for the book of patterns which was revised by the Knitting Association; statement relating to the beginnings of the Advisory Committee and its terms of reference; list of committee members including president and secretary; extract from 1947 report relating to Knitting Association gifts to The Mission to Seafarers in 1947.
