Series contains files relating to work of the Mission to Seafarers (formerly the Missions to Seamen), in British and international ports. The series is divided into Port Files (National) [U DMS/11/1] and Port Files (International) [U DMS/11/2]. Please note that an unsorted set of extracts from minutes, collated by port, many with annotations stating 'add to file' or similar, were sorted into this series and added to the most chronologically relevant original file. During cataloguing work, original file covers were removed for preservation reasons. No significant information was recorded on the file covers, which only noted the name of the port to which the file related and sometimes the covering dates. Further material relating to the society's work in individual ports can be found in the series Donated Branch Records [U DMS/21].
