File containing correspondence relating to the donation and loan of photographs and to the use of photographic material in various publications by the Mission to Seaferers, formerly the Missions to Seamen, also illustrations and photographs compiled by Gillian Ennis as Public Relations Secretary for the society, and a PR handbook compiled in the 1970s by the Public Relations Department of the Missions to Seamen. Includes references to: the founder of the society, John Ashley; various seafarers and people associated with the society; centres operated by the society (Poplar, Poole, Well Street at London Docks, St Andrews Waterside Mission at Gravesend, Havre, Kowloon); the Mission vessel 'Eirene'; ships associated with and visited by the society (SS Indus, HMS Victory, Sunshine, Thisbe, a rowing boat at Teignmouth, a sampan at Shanghai, Griselda, Richard Davey); changing flag of the society.
