Includes references to the following: survey of the society's work on the River Thames and in the Medway, and desire of the society to obtain an M.F.V. to replace three small motor launches used to visit ships; inspection, acquisition and fitting out of the M.F.V.125, including sourcing of a new engine; application for registration of the vessel under the name 'John Ashley' in 1951; appointment of Mr C.F. Pring as Engineer of the vessel; maintenance issues; 'John Ashley' built 1936 at South Shields by J.G. Mitchelson & Son.
