File containing correspondence between the secretary of Trinity House, London, and Captain G.L. Parnell as secretary of the Lightships and Lighthouses Committee of the Missions to Seamen. Includes references to the following: donation of sea-boot stockings to Trinity House lightkeeping staff by Missions to Seamen in 1946; suggestion that Missions to Seamen establish Liaison Officers at each of the Trinity House base ports; annual quiz for light house and lightvessel crews; arrangements for notification of transfers of lightkeepers and lightvessel personnel; Parnell accompanying the 'Argus' relief vessel; life jackets; logistics of Missions to Seamen providing TV sets in lighthouses and onboard lightvessels; the Missions to Seamen centenary in 1956; permits for some named chaplains to go aboard lightvessels and alight at lightships; replacement of Captain Glasson as Trinity House representative on the Lightships and Lighthouse Committee of the Missions to Seamen following his retirement in 1964.
