Contains correspondence between Mullin and Frank L. Carter, Major Dudley J. Gardiner and William Deedes of the Daily Telegraph re the philanthropic social work of Major Gardiner in Calcutta [Kolkata] and Bengal, and an attempt by Mullin to raise funds through journalistic means for this work on Major Gardiner's behalf. Note that Mullin had undertaken a similar appeal in 1972 following a journalist trip to Asia.
