File relates to an attempt by Paul McCormick and Julian Lewis (subsequently a Conservative MP) to take control of Newham North East Labour Party. The affair embroiled most of the cabinet including Jim Callaghan the then Prime Minister, and led to High Court actions which threatened to bankrupt the Labour Party. Mullin and then journalist Greg Dyke investigated the affair and Mullin wrote pieces for the Tribune and the Guardian. Contains correspondence, notes and draft articles written by Mullin, published articles written by Mullin, press cuttings on the subject, copy high court papers, photograph, explanatory note by Mullin.
