- Briefly describes the town of Lichfield where he is staying for Christmas, and his own feelings at being there. Refers to the 'Listener' (containing his poem 'Ultimatum', CP. p. 243). (8pp.) Printed in the Selected Letters, pp. 3 - 4. Letter contains a rough illustration of the situation of the house where he is staying in relation to the town; and of himself sending a bird(?) away as a "messenger of light".
