Discusses his feelings for Winifred Arnott and in general the trouble he has in talking to girls; 'XX Poems' and his view of a poem as a cross - roads of his thoughts (diagram used for illustration); and Life as meaning different things depending on a person's outlook, and what he sees as his inability to take part in it. Refers to the possibility of them spending a couple of days together in Bournemouth. (6pp). Contains illustration of Sutton cooking whilst living alone. Part is printed in the Selected Letters, pp. 172 - 174, where Thwaite dates it as 10 July 1951.
