Description:
Describes a long jamming session at HMV studios, discussing the music of Carl Barriteau. Quotes from and discusses Auden, and writes some of his own poetry; and relates story of Dylan Thomas coming to visit the English Club, referring to Rupert Brooke and Stephen Spender. Larkin's anxieties about the possibility of joining the army are evident in this letter. (14pp). Contains a rough illustration of the plan of HMV studios; and illustrations of Larkin falling asleep and playing squash. End of letter is missing. Part is printed in the Selected Letters, pp. 27 - 28.
