Written over two days, the main topic is the unconscious, specifically the poetic unconscious. Discussed in relation to this are Larkin keeping a dream diary (DPL1/2/51?) after hearing John Layard speak; religion versus science, leading from the subject of psychology to poetry; and the war and the psychological state of the country, making reference to Eric Gill.
