Discusses the recent change in him with regards jazz, D. H. Lawrence, and Auden; Oxford; trying to get a job with the Civil Service and trying to write; and his poems in 'Oxford Poetry: 1942 - 3'. The final part of the letter is written mid final examinations. (8pp). Contains illustrations of Larkin going in and coming out of an examination, going into a pub, and lying inebriated afterwards.
