Discusses writing a novel which he is calling 'Figures Under Glass' (became 'Jill'); a novel he read called 'Daughter of Time' (author unknown) about Katherine Mansfield, Murry (John Middleton Murry?), and D. H. Lawrence. Speculates on when the war will end; and briefly discusses an early short story by Lawrence called 'Goose Fair'. (11pp). Contains rough illustrations depicting Larkin rushing and jumping on a wireless; and a water - colour painting of musicians entitled `A riot of colour'.
