- Is back in Hull from his stint as visiting fellow at All Souls College, Oxford where he worked on 'The Oxford Book of Twentieth Century English Verse', referring to the omission of Hugh McDiarmid from the book; sends a copy of 'This Be The Verse' [CP180, not present], making reference to Ann Thwaite's editing of 'Allsorts'; and refers to 'Wave'; and Thwaite going to America, mentioning also Larkin's introduction to an American edition of John Betjeman's 'Collected Poems' (1971).
