Discusses an edition of 'New Writing' which Larkin has sent him, with reference to a story by MacLaren Ross; 'Notes from a Painter's Notebook' (Osbert Sitwell); the public house he goes into, describing an argument about art the previous night which he listened to but was unable to join in with, making reference to Picasso; the Viceroy of India; Druids; and 'The Marie Celeste'. This is the last letter we have written by Sutton in the army. 6pp
