1) Yeow Choo Lak: Elements in Asian Theology (pp. 1-10). The beginnings of indigenous Theology: four basic elements in Asian Theology: growth, development, transformation, modernization. This involves alterations of goals, structures and the processes of theological thinking, as well as of customs, values and institutional thinking. There must be self-critical discipline and mutual criticism. In particular, Asian Theology will have to grapple with tribal or racial characteristics.
2) The Rev. Dr. Harry Parkin: The Asian Context of Asian Theological Education (pp. 11-25). Theological education. Dragons and pigs, i.e. Christianity's dealing with cultural symbols in Asian society; three parables relating to pearls (Confucian and Christian). Authority in the light of primal religious thought. Theology of inculturation. Openness to the universalities.
