File b contains correspondence relating to the case including information from solicitors and minutes of special meetings of the ACPO Executive committee, ACPO opinion on the case, minutes from a special Nottingham City Labour Party meeting, a memorandum with regard to the functions and duties of a watch committee and the status and position of its members and a copy of the report of the Inquiry into St Helens County Borough Police Force by Sir H Maddocks and Sir L Dunning (1927).
