Eliza refers to 'those pleasant days last week', describes her journey up to Edinburgh with stops at York, Newcastle, refers to telling her Aunt Julia about Bagehot and her aunt's references to other suitors of Campbell and Lord D, tells him of the 'rubbing doctor's' opinion of her sister Sophy's spine, informs him that they are now lodged in a back street in Edinburgh behind a school
