The letters cover a wide range of areas including letters to specific members or the group about group activities (e.g. petitions), letters to prospective new members or individuals asking for support, answers to enquiries about providing speakers for events, thank you letters to supporters, answers to requests for leaflets or information about the group, letters to individuals and the council trying to generate support, letters mentioning disturbances at Hull Action for Peace meeting and events, thank yous and information on collecting signatures for the World Disarmament Campaign petition and letters relating to concern about the potential deployment of Tomahawk and Pershing 2 missiles in the UK and Western Europe. Some of the letters are incomplete and some are handwritten. The correspondence sent by Hull Action for Peace also includes letters to notable individuals such as Alan Plater, Philip Larkin and John Prescott MP.
