Taken from the side of the road leading towards the Lodge and Lodge gates. There is a sign on the wall next to the gates with the text 'To Ypres, 347 miles. In defending the Salient the casualties were 90,000 killed, 71,500 missing, [40,000] wounded.' Original photograph numbered: 34.7
