- Description:
- From Howard Sergeant to Roger Elkin; HS tells RE that Shrewsbury conned him, RE was led to believe HS would be there; HS writes about the Arvon competition, and accuses the adjudicator Craig Raine of corruption having pre-existing knowledge of the winner's, Oliver Reynolds', poems; HS also notes that Craig Raine tried to get Oliver Reynolds a Gregory Award, and wrote directly to the other judges after HS refused it; HS does not know who won the Tate Competition; HS did not feel able to include RE's enclosed work in OPQ, but that it is always welcome; HS sends congratulations to Sarah Elkin, and jokes about Eileen Elkin going to a Wolf Cubs Camp; HS has proofs for the Winter issue of Outposts Poetry Quarterly, and of his book 'Fairground Familiars'.
